Looking out my hotel window towards the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa, is one of those ‘pinch me’ moments I get to experience when travelling. I’m staying at the Renaissance Downtown Hotel, Dubai a stunning mix of modern and luxe. I loved the clever acknowledgements to the indigenous heritage of the Middle East placed throughout the hotel. My favourite were the metal sculptured camels on the wall above my bed. They’re a stylised Arabesque reinterpretation of Picasso’s camel sketch (apparently.)
Quirky but oh so perfect, as was everything else in this hotel, including being a stone’s throw from the world’s largest mall – the Dubai Mall. Throw in six fabulous eating choices and voila – a hotel I’d highly recommend in Dubai.
